The unmistakable taste of quality
Since 2009
In fact, our story began six generations ago, in 1849, when our ancestor, Sebastian Garcia Barroso, settled near Vila Nova de São Bento and started his agricultural and livestock activity here.
Five generations later, two brothers – great-great-grandsons of Sebastian Garcia Barroso – joined by a close friend, embarked on a mission: to share with the world the authentic sausages of Aldeia Nova de São Bento, crafted by the skilled hands of the family recipes with more than a century of tradition and know-how.
They revived the traditional recipes once prepared during the family’s home pig slaughters, and in May 2009, production officially began.
This moment marked the beginning of Paladares Alentejanos, a company devoted to producing and bringing to market the finest meats, sausages, and hams from the native Alentejano Black Pig.
