Our story
Over 100 years of tradition
From the stillness and calm of the Alentejo, between fields and dehesas, we have created one of the most complete and flavoursome pork meats - THE BLACK PIG - created in the countryside, taking advantage of all the natural wealth that only the Alentejo can offer.
Feeding acorns and grasses in the mountain months and cereals in the summer stubbles gives us the guarantee of producing meat with a high amino acid content and rich in oleic acids of high nutritional value.
Paladares Alentejanos has been raising its own Alentejo Black Pork near Vila Nova de São Bento, in the heart of the Alentejo, since 1849.

Our pigs are reared extensively throughout their 14 to 20 months of life and take advantage of all that the Alentejo cork oak and holm oak forests have to offer, without rushing and in perfect harmony with nature.
